Downtown chicken and more is alive and well The reason the valley chicken an mo closed is because it had a different distributor than the original chain. They got their meat from winco, according to the owner, mr hemphill. The original downtown store still has the same awesome food and great service.
RecommendedDon't park next door unless you know it is open despite being a public parking. The dinner turned out more expensive than expected because of that. At any rate, this cannot overshadow how the food were delectable and had definitely satisfied our hunger. We will definitely visit again when in the area.

Excellent service, feel like your are right at home, they were quick getting my order together, the food is absolutely fabulous and that sweet potato pie OMG!! Just like mama jean used to make! It was all the comfort I was needing!

It is honest-to-goodness soul food. The chicken is fried to perfection and the sides are classic - collard greens, red beans and rice, macaroni salad, green beans, rolls. They also offer catfish and bbq ribs. It’s all set in a tiny hole-in-the wall with jazz and R&B music piped in. Reminds me of growing up in LA.
the nicest of i have ever met, seriously. the inside of the restaurant is decorated to perfection. you have to be really looking for it to know what's there but it is well worth the look
