It was around 9:30 pm when I arrived at the ER. Turns out I was passing a kidney stone and was in so much pain I could barely stand. The receptionist had no empathy whatsoever and expected me to answer questions directly instead of asking my wife who is standing beside me in dismay the entire time. Then she told me to go wait in a chair. I asked if I could lie down and she told me the nurse said 'no'. Then she asked for my driver's license.
