It is impossible to get an appointment,they do not answer calls.Dr. Maxon wanted follow up 2 week after he preformed a esophrgram and A colonoscopy. Office was to call and arrange it. Due to the fact this didn’t happen I tried to book it, could never speak to a live person, when i left numerous messages for his medical assistant begging for a call back, they went un answered. This is an impossible situation.
I would give zero stars if I could. You can never get a live person. Every extension requires to leave a voice mail. If you dare leave an emergency message, it is also ignored. Staff hours are ridiculous 9 AM - 3 PM with lunch from 11:45 AM to 1 PM. Treatments are ignored, no assistance from staff, no return calls, do not use Dr. Maxson or the his team for anything! Absolutely horrible.
I had to wait 3 months to see him, that was the first problem. First visit, Dr. Maxson patiently listened to me, decided I had IBS thought I had additional symptoms and suggested an OTC herbal medication that was expensive and didn't work. Attempting to get a second visit, they told me another 3 month wait, but I could see his PA in 3 weeks. So did that. She suggested blood test and an Ultra Sound and stool sample. Dr. Maxzon has an awful bedside manner and his nurse practitioner Nicky is incompetent
I was directed to Dr. Maxson's office after being diagnosed with IBS. During my first visit, the girls in the office got my appointment mixed up three times. I received a text message saying that my appointment was for 4/16 at 11:15. I made my appointment for Thursday. It took me an hour to get someone on the phone to confirm. Then she told me that my appointment was for 2pm, on Wednesday, reminding me of my 1:30 pm appointment. I showed up at Dr. Maxson's office and was told my appointment was for 2pm. Dr. Maxson 1. Attempting to charge me for a lvl 4 consulation, when a lightning strike is longer than my consulation. 2. Tried to double dip insurance by seperating my colonoscopy and stomach and throat check. Who wants to be put under twice? 3. No response on Why he took my copay amount then turn around and charge a lvl 4 consultation. From him or his staff to me or my insurance. 4. no reason to give your health in to someones hands who only wants ur money in them.
Very disappointed with Dr. Maxson who, although is an excellent and very competent physician, seems to be uncaring with his patients. Over the past 10 years I have had numerous endoscopy's and colonoscopy's performed by Dr. M In Jan 18 I had an emerg situation with food stuck in my throat and I called Dr. M's office. He refused to see me and his office suggested I go to Emergency saying that I had not seen him in 4 years. The reason for that was that he told me to come back in 4 yrs.
If you are a senior and high risk for colon cancer, do NOT use Dr. Maxson. His office took no special effort to ensure that our high risk mother got her followup colonoscopy. In 2009, a procedure showed our mother had polyps and needed to return in 2012. Dr. Maxson's office sent only one postcard and one reminder. She never had the followup procedure and died in 2015. When we spoke with him after her death, he was cold and said his system worked "exactly as it should have." Do NOT use him.
I will never go back here again. It is impossible to talk with anyone over the phone, you can never call Dr Maxson himself. If you ask the nurse practitioner to call you, usually expect about 2 days before you end up calling again and reminding them. Then later that day you will get a call. Both Dr Maxson and NP are useless. Complete waste of my money and time.
