I did shoot the hooch last year and had a amazing time, literally just sat back and relax. This year was a way different experience! We launched from a different location so i knew the experience would not be the same but We had to fight the whole way down the river to get out of the rocks. I paid $160 to rent 4 tubes. I called ahead of time and explained that I had a group of 6, but some of us had tubes and others didn’t. They said that was perfectly fine, but didn’t mention the shuttle wouldn’t take us if some of us had tubes. Shuttle fee is tacked onto each tube. When we arrived, we paid to park and found out the shuttle wouldn’t take the 2 children with me who had tubes with them. Strapping 20-30 Young Adults/Kids together tubing down the Chattahoochee...no masks- 2-3 feet apart... saw it today on Roswell Rd. on my way home from work... What are they thinking?
They did not enforce people wearing masks at all in the shuttle or practiced social distancing on the shuttles. We had a group of four and we waited to board 3 different shuttles before we could board. Every group that boarded before us and during our actual ride did NOT wear masks (besides us ) and no one employed by the company enforced mask wearing during the ride or even asked as a courtesy. My husband and I brought our kids to go tubing. I read their cancelation policy (no refunds because of weather or conditions). I get that. However, I waited until we were almost pulling up to what the site said was the location for weekday tubing to book and did the booking and realized we had to go about 20 min away instead. Fine, no big deal but that put us right at our 2:00 booking time so I called to let them know we would be there right at 2. OLD SMELLY URINE IN KAYAK...Kayak super heavy plasticky, we had to carry long distance ourselves with water and urine in kayaks and clean at put in... kayaks filled with yesterdays water in bottom and one KAYAK WE CARRIED for 15 mins FULL of smelly "yesterdays" URINE as we were first trip of day.
