About this business

History: Born to lift community spirits during difficult times, the Charro Days Fiesta arrives in 2015 celebrating their 78th Anniversary with the same dedication to bi-national friendship and respect for traditions that first captivated Brownsville 78 years ago.In 1937, during the Great Depression, local business leaders searched for an antidote to the gloom that engulfed Brownsville and the rest of the country. One year later, the community came together for the very first Charro Days to celebrate what made Brownsville uni... read more

I expected more this years. 2016's Charro Days celebration was some what boring. The international parade was more of a politicians parade to vote for them. By the time we knew it they were picking up chairs. I was expecting all schools to perform but only 3 middle schools and 2 highschool walked the parade. What happened to the bands from matamoros? Aren't we celebrating both cultures? Correct me if I'm wrong but only 1 school from matamoros participated. This year I was disappointed in the Charro Days Fiestas.

Business response:

Charro Days historically experiences more participation from elected officials on an election year. However, most people maintain a high level of respect by not personally campaigning during the parades. Maybe you will have a better experience next year. Judging from the majority of the comments, people are extremely satisfied and we are very happy with the outcome. Thanks for your comments. We love your cover photo!
