Went to the festivities every year while growing up. The galas and parades were the best. The Mr. Amigo is also an event that promotes friendship between the 2 countries. God Bless America �

I walked the charro days parade in 1945! I was in the first grade. My parents took us to all the parades each year. When we were teenagers we went to the nightly dances held on Elizabeth street and enjoyed going to the carnival, which I still enjoy. We had a lot of fun. People were nicer then and it was safe to walk everywhere! I am now much older and I still go to the parade and still like to wear a costume. I still enjoy going to the carnival. We're from Dallas.FortWorth. and we go to brownsvill just to go for Charro DaysFiesta and it's disappoting because it's not how it use to be people always have to change things I understand Brownsville has grown in the last 25 year's. But you need more bands more drill teams less daycare.s make it more exciting not boring ... ....
