Matchbox Realty & Management Services neglects tenant needs, leaving us to handle repairs ourselves, and nearly all students I know lose some if not all of their security deposit. I lived in Charleston for two years (Junior and Senior year) and have mostly good things to say about it. The apartment when we first moved in was pretty bad, a lot of appliances were broken and it wasn’t very clean. At the time management was in a house instead of downtown, so when it moved it made some inconveniences. Maintenance team charges a lot but gets it fixed mostly. Do not apply here. Called multiple times for a refund of the $50 application fee. The place rented out immediately and we were never considered. 2 weeks and still trying to get a refund. Do not under any circumstances apply for housing here unless you want to throw away $50 each for both you and your child. Update: 35+ days since they collected the application fee, multiple attempts to contact them (phone, email, website) and no response.
