Hi, i bought a slide rule with case and instruction book, dated 1943 to 1948, prior owner printed name on the inside of case.. charles w garrett. Maybe this was your grandfathers slide rule? I just purchased and received to give to my son, a Professional Engineer .. for his birthday. I (60 yrs) remember using a slide rule in elementary and for several years, and my dad gave me a really good one..wish i had my dad's. Anyway, just wondered if this one was a relationship to you.
