My daughter just returned from her first visit with Dr. Spitz. She *loved* it! I was a bit worried before the visit as I was told they would be doing full xrays. Uh oh. My kid has such a strong gag reflex that she's been known to vomit on cue when the tongue depressor comes near her! Her previous dentist was never able to get more than a single partially xrayed tooth due to her gaggy nature. But at Dr. Spitz's office, Joan made the process enjoyable! WHAT?! My daughter was given breathing tricks and information that helped h... read more

Dr. Spitz and his staff are wonderful. They put my children at ease and make going to the dentist "not so scary". I wish he was around when I was a child!!

My now 25 year old son had gone to Dr. Spitz since he was 5 and when he turned 18 he didn't want to stop going to Dr. Spitz. He went until he was 19 and decided when he was the only HUGE kid in the waiting room it was time to move on. :~) Now he has a son who is almost 3 and wants to take him there too. BTW - my son never had a cavity until he was 18. Thanks Dr. Spitz & staff.

We were patients of Dr. Spitz when one of my sons, then 14 mths, fell and broke his front teeth in half horizontally. Dr. Spitz said "Oh they're not fully erupted." They were broken in half! He then told me that breastfeeding had caused "baby bottle mouth." Firstly, that term was discontinued b/c they now know that the Strep Mutans bacteria cause "Early Childhood Caries." Spitz should have known that. Secondly, as I told Dr. Spitz, breastfeeding does not cause decay. If it did, all of the mammals around the world would be to... read more

Our experience was... For years, my sons 6 month check-ups showed no cavities, according to Dr. Spitz. When we switched over to another dentist, we brought our sons x-rays from Dr. Spitz office. Right away the new dentist said there were 5 cavities visible on the Dr. Spitz x-ray. When I called Dr. Spitz' office to ask about their explanation for the 5 cavities shown on my sons X-ray they had performed, they explained Dr. Spitz did not look at all the x-rays taken.

While I think they have great staff that show the kids how to brush, etc. the experience is not all sunshine: - The "central" room where drilling takes place is open so that there are multiple chairs in one place. That means that my children who have never had a dental issue (ages 12/9/5) walk in feeling fine and listen to curdling screams by kids, tears, drilling ,etc. Very distracting and stressful for kids. - I have had two friends that went there and switched out when they had a dental serious issue for their kids (one h... read more
