I was in the fight of my life against stage 4 cancer in three parts of my body. I only saw Dr Stewart 3 or 4 times. He told me while my mom was in the room "you're cancer has moved around 3 times and that I am terminal and even if I get a couple of clear pet scans,,,, that I'll be back, meaning I'll be back w cancer" this completely dashed my hopes only, for awhile though! Dr. Stewart and all of the staff in the Oncology and Radiation Departments there at Saint Francis were absolutely stellar! Very professional, yet very down-to-earth people in character. I trusted them with my life and I would do it again if necessary. For being given such a shocking diagnose on just an ordinary day, I realize now they had been perfectly trained and ready to receive someone like myself with a desperate need for a cure. Dr. Stewart was such a blessing during my treatments. He and nurse and techs kept me informed, treated me as an individual, were prompt to return a phone call. Best of all they were positive and had humor imbedded in the seriousness of the situation. Dr. Stewart was described to me by my oncologist as "brilliant ". I'm a year out with clear tests. Normally I'd be glad to never see them again, ( and I'm glad I probably won't) but they were an everyday part of my life for several months. I find myself with fond and grateful me... read more
