Had been coming to Chapparal restaurant for over 30 years & always enjoyed it. Went this last Saturday with our kids as we were at the campground & wanted to have a nice meal. Very disappointed in the offerings at the buffet. Used to have real crab legs, but while they now advertised imitation crab "stix", didn't even have those. Broasted chicken was a few bits of dried out nuggets & rest was crumbles of breading. No desserts, other than chocolate pudding on the salad bar. Today 12-25-15 my family and friends went for Christmas lunch. It was discussing. The service was very poor. It took a long time for a waitress to come to the table. Than we where asked"what do you want". I felt very out of place, like we were not worth to be taken care off. To top it of, I was sick to my stomach by the time I was home. What a disappointment. We will stay home for Christmas next year.
I loved going to Club Chapparal and their food. Unfortunately, my son and his girlfriend went later in the evening on Valentine's Day because he had to work. He said the food was cold and didn't taste very good. He said he ate a little because he was so hungry and his girlfriend also found the food poorly done. They paid $42, which is a lot for a high school. I called and spoke with the manager, and he was extremely polite and apologized. We stopped in on a Thursday and tried the 8 oz and 10 oz Sirloin Steak special. They were awesome, so tender you could cut them with a fork. Even my husbands well done steak was very tender, with a great taste. If you like steak, you should stop in and try the Club Chapparal out. Steak comes with soup, potato and salad bar. Price wasn't bad either.
We ate there last night for the Friday Buffet. The soup was delicious. But, the ribs were hard, the baked fish was hard, the other fish selections they had had no taste and some pieces weren't completely cooked. The chicken was okay. Not a good experience. Very disappointed.
We had my mom and stepdad's 25th wedding anniversary party here and we loved it!! Service was great, coffee was great, my stepdad loved the soup and the buffet was wonderful. Thanks for helping make their day a great one!!!
we were at Chapparal again this last weekend. Food was great like always. We had the friday night buffet best fish in the area. on Saturday we had the Prime Rib buffet and the prime rib was so juicy and tender we cut it with a fork no need for a steak knife. So happy with the staff and owner always pleasent and great atmosphere. The soup and salad bar is just unbelievable could make a meal just on that.
