Wonderful location, 10 minute walk from OSF theater venues. Excellent service, very clean, extra amenities such as in-room fridge and teakettle. Beautiful garden and yard--and although this isn't about the inn specifically, there appears to be a small herd of deer that live about a block away which you will see morning and evening. My only caveat is that despite a window a/c and a thoughtfully provided fan, for me, the room was uncomfortably warm (outdoor temps were mid-70s). Dean and his staff are fantastic and what a great location within a short walk to town and events!
I really enjoyed my stay on 2/14/26. What a wonderful place. Easy check in, clean, adorable and the breakfast… WOW!
Rooms were clean and comfortably furnished. Food was delicious. Within easy walking distance to the Shakespeare Festival. Also, communication was excellent.
5 stars all around! The Chanticleer is a gem in Ashland. We felt pampered from the moment we arrived and enamored by the charm this B&B presented. It felt like we were characters in a storybook! We stayed in the Aerie room and it was spacious and clean and luxurious. The breakfast was so delicious and they catered to my picky diet. If we could move in, we would!
