I had a very good experience with Dr. Chan and his staff, particularly his PA, Nancy Lam. I found him to be conscientious, concerned and thorough in his explanations during our consultations prior to and after surgery. Insurance paperwork, requests for prescriptions and emails were promptly responded to by him personally or his staff. The surgery, this past fall 2020, for a lumbar fusion went well and I have been relieved of the pain in my lower back and legs that were constant & increasingly debilitating companions for the ... read more
Worst surgeon I have ever had perform my surgery. I wouldn’t go to him again or recommend him to anyone even if he were the last spine surgeon on earth. He made a so called incidental durotomy in my spinal cord. This essentially means he CUT OFF my dura in my spinal cord. My cerebral spinal fluid LEAKED. Roonprapunt nearly KILLED me. He did c4-6 ACDF on me which FAILED. I was a healthy, active 48 year old woman. He chose to do fusion on me when I later learned every other surgeon would have done a disc replacement surgery be... read more
I saw Dr Chan for a 2nd opinion after failed back surgery by somebody else. He spent more time with me than anyone else, after having already reviewed my scans before I came. He explained how he thought he could help me and I felt immediately comfortable. The surgery went very well and I have no pain for the first time in years. He is very caring and obviously very smart and competent.
I will definitely recommend Dr. Roonprapunt-highest ratings across all domains. The initial consultation was thorough, amazing - took the time to understand my spinal issues and then reviewed the imaging with me. I knew at the end that I wanted him to operate. He was patient, kind, empathic-also highly skilled and I felt comfortable being under his care. A week before surgery, we met again at his suggestion and included my wife. Another great visit, felt reassured by the upcoming procedure. Also discussed post-operative care... read more
My girlfriend felt very uncomfortable with Chanland Roonprapunt because he ogled her body. She sought care from other surgeons. He got enraged and we believe that he put her on a blacklist in her medical chart falsely claiming she suffered depression and had behavioral issues when it was he who acted inappropriately and gave her substandard care. Other doctors will be reluctant to take you on as a patient because of his internal pejorative remarks about you on your chart. He is malicious and manipulative. He tried to ruin he... read more
Dr. Chan is cocky and disrespectful, has trouble listening, and thinks he knows it all when he is the most ignorant surgeon my husband and I have ever met. At my first visit, he said to me, "Why didn't you bring the CD instead of your husband?" Really? Why should it matter whether I or my spouse bring an MRI CD? He often violated my rights as patient. When I asked him to write a letter to help me get gym fees waived because I couldn't exercise after surgery, he purposefully wrote out my medical issues, violating my rights to... read more
Dr. Chan is by far the best neurosurgeon you could go to. After experiencing debilitating pain for years, I was finally provided with the option to undergo spinal surgery. My appointment was during the Covid-19 pandemic, and unfortunately, my surgery was postponed temporarily. Dr. Chan made sure to call each week to check up on me, to offer information, and to make sure I was as comfortable as possible until the surgery could happen. He truly made me feel cared about and prioritized. When the surgery occurred, Dr. Chan was e... read more
The best Neuro Surgeon, bar none! If you need a Chiari I specialist, please go to dr Chan! When I was told, I would need brain surgery, almost had a heart attack! I thought this was the end for me, cause I am a hypochondriac . I see death even in simplest diagnostic. But after meeting dr Chan, all my worries went out the windows! He put me at ease from our first meeting, explained in detail what my condition was . He takes time with his patients, answer any questions you might have. He has the best bed side manner and God kn... read more
Dr. Chan, as he suggests his patients call him, operated on me four weeks ago. I had been diagnosed elsewhere and went to see him with a copy of my scans. He re-read my scans and was able to correctly diagnose my condition. Surgery was scheduled within two weeks and was a complete success. Dr. Chan himself called me the day after my visit to give me my surgical date and ask if I had any further questions. He also called me himself one day post op to check on my progress. He was professional, caring, knowledgeable and very ea... read more
