Breaking from the typical Tex-Mex of Austin, but still offering up some tasty Caribbean cuisine, Chago's offers some tasty Puerto Rican cuisine right in Rosedale. Dishes like mofongo (friend plantain) and more conventional items such as an award winning cuban sandwich keep the locals coming back.

My family loves this restaurant. Excellent food, friendly service. It became one of our regular restaurants.
Excelente comida excelente atención... Buen ambiente Recomiendo a ojos cerrados el sancocho tiene ese toque de sazon de las cosas hechas en casa que te transportan a tu tierra solo me faltaron las arepas. Saludos MISS Venezuela
We were told of Chagos by a friend that moved to Austin about a yr ago. So last night stopped by for dinner during a visit to Austin. My wife had the Mofongo aniversario withe fried pork and arroz con gandules. I had the mofongo de pollo frito. It was excellent. The mofongo was very very good. My wife verbalized the fact that it took her back home. I am looking forward...we are looking forward to our next trip to Austin for dinner there. I may have the sancocho next time.
Had a great dinner last night 01/07/17 celebrating my birthday with a few close friends.
We ate numerous excellent meals last summer in San Juan and come to learn that the best Puerto Rican cuisine I've had is right here in Austin. The dishes were all very well prepared, perfectly seasoned and super delicious. The mafongo is the best I've ever had. Service was great to boot and to top it all off, the chef and owner Santiago and his wife came out to say hello and to get to know us since it was our first visit; one of many to come. Could not recommend Chago's more highly. Just go. Enjoy!
