First Call now holding over 10 minutes – This is not a great sign! My stepfather was transferred yesterday from another hospital that made many mistakes in his care. Another family member picked this location and I will be there today to see for myself if it is at least "standard" care. Beware - Liars – My mother had occasion to be sent to Central Park for therapy after a hospital admission. When the therapy time was over, we requested she stay there for Long Term Care. Initially, everything was roses - Your mom can stay, NO Problem! Next, Mr. Mann said she can't stay, we don't have a medicaid/medicare bed available, only private insurance. A blatant lie - all their beds are medicaid/medicare certified. If they have ANY bed, they have to accept. When caught in the lie, it was a misunderstanding, of course w... read more
boy are you right – Just trying to get out of the facility is a nightmare. After being promised for a month they would handle all paperwork, they tried to kicj Mom out 'with cause'. We got help with the Ombudsman but it was if they were trying to mess up our atempts to fine anothe facility. I was horrible how they treat elderly people. One thing, the staff directly dealing with the patient is fine. Just the administration. They probably kick their dog too.
Never take a loved one to central park! – Today is 8/25/2008. Within a month, I plan to come back to this site and post my letter about this place. For now, I have to beg you, please don't take a loved one to this facility! We had a terrible experience and know of others that have also had a bad experience with this place. I will be posting my information about Central Park Rehab on every internet site I can find. Please find another place, or better yet, make arrangements at home for the care of your loved one.
