Shame on store manager Monica Woodard for not enforcing social distancing guidelines at this store and putting her employee and customer’s lives at risk. I’ve made a complaint with H‑E‑B corporate and encourage others to shop elsewhere until she gets it together and prioritizes safety over profit.
It’s clear Central Market no longer cares about the safe social distancing practices put in place by more reputable places in Austin. Shame on the store manager for putting her employees and patrons at risk when cases are already spiking in Austin and the Mayor is asking people to stay home over 4th of July weekend. The lack of accountability I saw was deplorable. Used to love coming here - won’t be back anytime soon.

I was there on Saturday. It appears that Central Market is no longer concerned about consumer and public safety. There were no employees controlling the crowd, no sanitizing wipes, nobody following or enforcing social distancing protocol. It was back to the old free for all. This has been my grocery store of choice but no more. I encourage others to stay away as well until the managers and HEB decide that pubic safety matters.
