NO NO NEXT DOOR – Its okay, but the staff is rude and caters to the tourists only now. Best to go to Progresso just next door for better service and better prices.
unsatisfied – Muffaleta was dry, not enough meat, not worth the price.
much ado about nothing – We went here to get the much praised Muffuletta, however it was prepackaged and hardly any meat to it!! We were very surprised it was almost $9.00 for a sandwich (we did split it)!! They seem to have forgotten their roots of what made the sandwich great at one time.
overrated – $9.00 for a mostly empty sandwich, pre-made on stale bread. What's the big deal. I tried it twice just in case 1st was an accident. The 2'nd one was as bad as the 1st.
Absolutely the best!!! – As a native of the greater N.O. area I have had many muffalatta's from Central Grocery. There is no other sandwich like it! It is absolutely the best sandwich ever!
Muffelletas are outstanding – This is a great lunch spot. My wife & I split a sandwich and we were full when we left. This is a "must do" when your in the Quarter.
interesting – Sandwiches are wonderful! My husband & I split a muffeletta for lunch and had major leftovers! The place was a little crowded. You want out immediately if you are like me and dont like small crowded areas. The sandwiches are great though!
Whata muffelatta – First trip to N.O. so I carefully planned every bite I would take. The CG is one of the last places on my list and I'm glad I didn't miss it. No frills, no fuss. Wait in line, buy your sandwich and retire to the spartan back of the place to jam it into your face. Great bread, great cold cuts and olive spread. NOT to be missed. I still get cravings.... – This is one of those true New Orleans experiences that you can't miss. Years after moving away, Central Grocery still tops my list of Must Dos when I visit New Orleans...you haven't lived until you have had a Muf from Central!
