A joke!! Tell me how my loan balance jumps up $3,000 for no reason! I have been with them for almost 2 years now. This has happened once already. Their excuse was that I didn’t have insurance and they added in the comprehensive Insurance!! $3,000??? Considering I took papers up there, 2x Prior to this, to show them I had insurance! i opened a account with cefcu a representatives payee account. when i opened the account i was expecting a deposit. i called and asked about the deposit they said the money was in my account. I went to draw it out. the lady said there was a problem. it was a brand new account only a day or so old. the lady said i had to come back in a few hours then i could make a withdrawal. the problem was someone in Peoria il had to sign a paper for my account to be active the person who does that wss on vacation at the time so they had t... read more

CEFCU, as you can see from all the reviews, can't get more than one star and I hope this will be a wake up call for this business. I always had problems with their unprofessional and unknowledgeable customer service representatives. Due to COVID-19, I was forced to stay home as most of the working force, so today I decided to called them, to find out what are the conditions and consequences, if I'm going to be forced to ask for deferred payments. I'm out of state because of the pandemic and have been since February. I haven't been getting mail. My debit card expired.So, I needed to get a new debit card and I needed to change my address with CEFCU. The first call I made, the CEFCU automated system asked for my card number. I entered the number, but the system refused to hear either the numbers coming from the keypad of my iPhone or words spoken into the phone. I know banks and credit unions charge over draft fees to punish the poor and pad their own pockets. But CEFCU takes it to an extreme. I cannot pay my bills this month because I have not been able to crawl out from under the over draft fees they charge (sometimes twice for one transaction) because of a silly mistake I made 6 months ago. I'll accept those over draft fees from Oct. But the over draft fees from November until now (every. Single. One.) Is just plain theft at this point. I am poor. They enjoy holding your money hostage, every time I use my card to make a purchase the payment clears, they then place a pending payment on my account and lock me out of using any money I have in their so I'm stuck trying to pay my dogs vet bill and my card get declined when I have more then enough money to cover it! When I call o get told oh u have pending charges. I say yes but if u look down you will see those already cleared a week ago yet I still have them pending, I get a oh yeah I see that now well our system this is ... read more

If I could give it a 0 I would. This bank has no communication with its customers. They first rejected my direct deposit for no reason without contacting me because a woman named Debbie didn’t do her job so I called and they loaned me the money for the check in till I receive the paper check in the mail. Yesterday Debbie refused my call several times and locked my account which holds over $1200 without a single call to let me know why and because they aren’t letting transactions go through, they refused my pay yet again on F... read more

Looks like no matter what complaint you have about the bank they always have some lame excuse of why they treated people the way they do in their defense I would still like to know the reasoning behind the fact they wouldn't even consider a loan on my home and land just because the house was still under construction the land alone appraisal was more then the loan I applied for makes no since to me !!
