Won’t allow me to deposit my PAYCHECK that I’ve been receiving ever week for a whole year and then charged me overdraft fees. No one has been any help, and after a week of asking for options on how to get money into my account I’ve accrued over $100 in fees. $100 in fees and I have money that they won’t allow me to deposit. It’s a pandemic and a credit union who pretends to care, doesn’t. They won’t even help me close my account, I’m assuming Bc they want to continue charging me “fees” and not let me correct it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I have reached out to CEFCUs Electronic Member Center and Cash Management Department to help research the issue. After reviewing the account, the Electronic Member Center was unable to find any problems regarding Remote Deposit Capture that would be impacting the ability to deposit a payroll check. The Cash Management Department looked into ACH deposits and was unable to find where there have been any returns on a payroll deposit.
In general it is a good "bank". I have an issue with their online bill pay system. When a check is issued to an individual not a member of CEFCU, that check will not be cashed at a CEFCU institution when presented there. The check is issued through a third party bank. Even though the funds were debited from the issuing account, the check will be refused! Insane policy!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I apologize for the inconvenience regarding the Bill Pay checks. Payments made through the Bill Pay product do not have the maker’s account or routing number on the check, therefore, cannot be cashed by a non-member.
I would like to complain about a issue with cefcu I talked to three different managers on getting my money back Stacie **** and Ken ********wouldn't give my money back for the account they wouldn't let me hear my conversation on my recording off me saying that they wouldn't give me any more over draft fee when it was not my fault they charged my almost 200 dollars in one day then they were rude to me

I think they do alright. My complaint is the app. I have to delete and download it over and over to get access to my linked accounts. Then, like clockwork, two weeks later I have no access. It's always the same A SYSTEM ISSUE IS CAUSING A DELAY CONNECTING TO CEFCU. This is extremely annoying. I have multiple linked accounts that I can't access when this error occurs.

I was looking into getting a home loan with cefcu and spoke with an extremely unpleasant lady named Stephanie *****. She was very snoody and had that I'm better then you attitude. She was very unwelcoming and basically acted like I was wasting her time because I didn't have what they required to get approved. cefcu is the worst. the ach is closed on weekends and they only do stimulus deposit on weekend's. cefcu said the irs sends thousands and thousands of files. cefcu has to manually hand post each one to customer accounts ( only on Wednesdays)

Hi Larry. I am sorry to hear about your experience. The only ***Stimulus Payments that CEFCU has to hand-post are the ones that are sent to us with incorrect information. CEFCU does the best we can to determine the account the deposit was supposed to go into, rather than immediately return the funds. If the correct information is sent, they funds get automatically deposited. We have received funds from the ***in multiple batches and not just on weekends. Worst bank to due business refusing service in the lobby to an individual with health disabilities due to not being able to wear a mask during Covid. Won't accommodate you in the drive thru either... threatened to be arrested for not wearing a mask and forced to leave... not even allowed to close accounts and withdraw money because you can't go inside to take your business elsewhere.
On Tuesday, September 1 I tried to log onto my CEFCU online account to check on a transaction only to not be recognized by the system. I had my girlfriend log on her CEFCU account with no problem. I called their help line but grew impatient waiting so I called their member center on Raab road in Normal, IL. The person that I talked to told me the account had been closed on August 28.
