We did the Whiskey Tour at Tarnish Truth and guide Starr was great! Informative, friendly and funny and made everyone feel at home.
Good food, but this place is racist. The waitresses were pleasant but my brother was playing the piano after we ate food and he was playing wonderfully and this skinny white woman peeked around the corner as if she wanted to say something but she quickly left and called a black security guard to come over and tell him he couldn't play the piano so she wouldn't seem racist. To think, the day was going so well up until then. AND THERE WAS NO SIGN SAYING THAT PEOPLE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY THE PIANO SO HOW IS ONE TO KNOW? Neve... read more

This is a gorgeous restoration, and is beautiful though out. A very special place to stay.

We didn’t stay in any of the rooms, but we did have a high tea there. It was wonderful. As a tea snob I was impressed. Everything was served properly and they used real clotted cream rather than a creative substitution like many American teas are served with. Our server was a lovely girl whose name escapes me, but she was at once casual and elegant and didn’t let us want for anything. My only complaint is that it was a little two warm inside. The hotel is enormous with high ceilings, so the air conditioning couldn’t keep up.... read more
