Rude Receptionist! So here is what happened to Karen over the weekend: my mom's cat ran out of his thyroid medicine. I called to see if I could get a refill. She said he has to come in for bloodwork. (We were just in there in there 4 months ago, and once in) I asked if I could just get a refill. The cat has a really hard time coming in, he vomits, pukes and poops on himself. RecommendedI've been taking my feline friends here exclusively since I moved to Portland. The clinic is low-stress for the cats and all of the staff are knowledgeable, caring, compassionate 'cat people' who understand how to work around cats (and cat people). We've worked with them through some pretty scary times - cancer, cardiac disease, and asthma - and they always gave us great care and recommendations. My husband found this vet ~3 years ago, after taking our kitty Luna to multiple different facilities with no resolution. The staff were amazing. They tried a variety of different treatment options and were willing to think outside the box to offer solutions. When it came time for us to say goodbye to Luna, the staff were gentle, supportive, and helped us any way they could through that rough time. I sure hope they have changed their mode of operating. About 8 years ago, I had some of the worst experiences at a vet office. Resulting in my cat dying and discovering I was grossly over charged. When a second senior cat became ill, I switched vets. And she lived for years. For the sake of cats, I hope this clinic is less focused on the money and cheating people and focused on providing quality care. Horrible place.
