the Phantom Hello! I cook for a living and I am retired. My experience ranges from resort dining to a beach side place in Mendocino. I started as a dishwasher back in my teens and was last the head Saucier and off and on head chef. I don't favor any one restaurant, but rather see the pros and cons of the places I visit. Only so so I was not impressed. Before moving to Yuba City all I heard from friends who lived here was Casa Lupe is the best. Not so. We ate there a few times when we knew no other restaurants. It was OK at best. The rice is bland and kinda nasty. My children, who are rice fiends, wouldn't touch it after the first bite. My husband who is a huge Mexican food lover started searching for other places after our first meal. And he found one. I must say El Zarape is FAR better then Casa Lupe.
YUM I grew up eating bean burritos from Casa Lupe. I love their beans. The chips and salsa are so good, and they also make yummy Margaritas. I don't live in Northern California anymore, and I miss eating at Casa Lupe. I finally found a place here that tastes similar to C.L. and was so excited!

All around great Mexican food – A great restaurant all around. Fantastic and fast service, great food, very affordable, and conveniently located right down the street from the movie theatre for those pre/post movie meals. Although it can seem crowded at times the restaurant is large and they seat groups ratherly quickly. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent.

My favorite restaurant in the world! They have the absolute BEST Mexican Food here at Casa Lupe! Everything is prepared fresh and tastes delicious. I especially love their fajitas for 2 and their fresh salsa. We can eat here for under $40 with a family of 5, so their prices are amazing!.The staff is great too.
