At one time l did love it. It was back in 1960 when l was 5 years old. For the next 13 or 14 years was total bliss till tent camping was almost eliminated and turned it into an RV park. We were so impressed with the city of Carpinteria and Carpinteria State Beach Campground. Friendly locals, friendly state parks staff, gorgeous beach, campsites so close to the ocean, clean restrooms, safe, small town feel, great boogie boarding with no undertows. We loved everything on this trip and even had good neighbors!
It's one of my favorite places in California. The Camp hosts are so friendly and kind. Lyle and Toni at the San Miguel grounds are so caring and amazing.
I always love visiting Carp. This last visit in May was beautiful. Walked the bluffs. Went into town. I must say the hosts were also very helpful. Especially Lyle and Toni in San Miguel.
Peaceful place for you and the family or just you and your other half. Very clean it's awesome campgrounds

The food . The campground. The snowcone at the beach greatest ever. Amtrak rite there.
