About this business
We air-roast our organic premium coffees. No burnt taste and free of carcinogens. At our cafe, we have a french bakery with delights such as gluten-free scones, Chico-Chai scones, and vegan cookies, chocolate chip, and gluten-free peanut butter coffees to compliment our delicious coffee. We have a full barista bar and a lunch menu of quiche, breakfast burritos, sandwich wraps and soups in the winter months.

SM Coffee Roasters is across the street from my bookstore. One of their bakers, Carleen, lives around the corner from me and we used to spend a lot of time together when our kids were younger. She has always loved and knows how to bake! I can't believe my luck!! Her baked goods are the bomb. The scones and cookies have fantastic flavor, have just the right firmness/softness, and vegans and gluten-free eaters are not left out. Coupled with the best coffee in town? I need to sell some books just to support my habit.
The coffee is delicious and the frittata muffins are amazing!!
Delicious coffee and fresh, beautifully prepared food, served by capable, attentive staff in a warm and comfy book-filled space. This my very favorite coffee spot in Grass Valley. I look forward to chillier weather so I can cozy up by their wood stove ☕️
This is the best coffee shop around. They have some healthier style treats and eats, and the ambience is simply irresistible with all the wonderful old books. Get a latte, buy a book, sit down and enjoy! Oh, they also have free WiFi for patrons.
Seriously the best coffee around! I wasn't a coffee snob before discovering SMCR, and now I won't drink anything else!
