I would like to take this moment to thank Dr. Hwang, her NP Monica, Chase, Devon and her entire team. I have been a patient of Dr. Hwang since 2022 and recently had an outpatient double procedure completed for surveillance. Dr. Hwang is an excellent physician. I have a very difficult case of Crohn’s disease and I was sent to her by my original G.I. physician after all other treatments had failed. She examined my health history, took a considerable amount of time to discuss my issues and came up with a new plan of treatment. She continues to closely follow my case and continues to make adjustments to my treatment in hopes of lessening the effects of this disease. Coupled with this, her support staff is excellent. Hoag clearly has the best of the best in our area. After my colon blockage, I was blessed with a team of doctors and surgeons including Dr Hwang, Dr Raskin, Dr Jensen, Pollyanna and their fantastic staffs in Irvine and Newport. A year and a half later, CT scans, MRI, endoscopy’s (my poor insurance) my colostomy has been reversed and have been officially discharged. Hoag’s gastro team is world class and should be recognized for it.
Having her as my GI was a horrible experience. She didn’t believe I had an infection and kept saying I had crohns when I clearly knew it didn’t . I had to go to urgent care where a doctor believed I had a stomach infection and prescribed me antibiotics. When I took the antibiotics, I immediately felt better. I went back with dr Hwang and even though she performed the endoscopy/colonoscopy, there was erosive gastritis present (likely due to the bacterial infection and sutab she made me take) yet she told me I was fine and con... read more
