All about the money......the vet we saw wanted to repeat test and X-rays that our regular vet had just done a few hours earlier. She suggested we keep our dog there until Monday so the “specialist” could evaluate him. $$$$$$$ The whole conversation was just bizarre. Finally, I told her my vet had told us our dog needed IV fluids, antibiotics and to be monitored over night and that’s what I wanted them to do. The next morning I get a call at 8am that his fever was down and he was stable. I heard nothing else until right before I was going to pick him up. The vet called and said our dog had taken a turn for the worse. He was dying. I told her I was coming to bring him home to die. To be fair, my daughter and I were not very nice when we got there but we were extremely upset. They brought him out to the car and gave us a white bag with what I thought might be medicine to keep him comfortable. Our very loved dog passed away 11 hours after leaving Carolina Veterinarian specialist. The white bag they gave me was filled with over 500.00 worth of prescription medicines they knew he could not take. They made me sign a release saying I knew he was dying but still sent and charged me for these medicines. I read the bio of the vet my dog saw. Nothing about her love of animals, but all about riding camels in Morocco, climbing the Great Wall of China, scuba diving in the Galapagos etc. I guess that’s why I felt like I was dealing with some high pressure sales person.

Although, the news was not what any of us wanted to hear, Dr. Moore and staff were kind, knowledgeable, and most importantly patient with three heartbroken humans. You see, River was only six years old. He was strong, handsome, and fast! He was mostly muscle and when one would pet him it was like patting a rock. Solid, firm and covered with black and white fur. He was loved, spoiled, and will be missed. 💔 I wish that Sunday morning had never happened and his health had remained strong but am glad they were there to help River and guide our daughter in making the best decision for HIM. Should the need arise, do not hesitate to use their services.
