This company took over to manage our property at ******************* and its been h*** every since they do not manage the property at all they do not fix anything in fact they have been telling us tenants that anything needed to be fixed is the tenants responsibility which in fact seems a bit crazy to me I do not own this property I am renting and this is an apartment complex all they care about is their rent money long story short they are horrible and we will not be renewing our lease the old property manager **** was the ... read more
My wife and I have been trying to reach them for over a week to inquire about a rental. I've called two number 4 times and left 4 messages and have not received the common flipping courtesy of a call back. Really, this tells you all you need to know about this company.
I submitted a maintenance request on 02/14/2002 for a clogged and problematic sewer issue. Plumbers arrived and tried, unsuccessfully to clear the line. In very short order, the toilets overflowed, especially when the washing machine emptied. I informed Carolina Cottages that the issues were not resolved. They sent a further team of plumbers, with more equipment, and seemed to believe things were resolved. After one load of clothes and a run of the dishwasher, all the problems returned. Negative stars from me! Didn't want to travel because there was a pandemic. All they said was they wouldn't refund any of the money that was paid to them because they didn't have time to re-rent it. Was going to go leave a review on VRBO and guess what? They pulled their cabin from there so they wouldn't have to abide by a recommendation of VRBO to refund clients or offer a later trip when travels resume during Covid-19. They never responded to my last email. Out $800 and will not ever stay with these people.

Run from this company if you want to make money with your rental. This one is greedy with their fees! Owner Lee Linhart is arrogant and vindictive. Carolina Cottages does well at: 1. Rents to unqualified people who quickly move out. This causes more leasing fees for the company, but costs hundreds to thousands to bring the property back up which the owner bares. 2. Carolina Cottages is a horrid and unethical company to rent from. After having similar experiences as other reviews (check out the filtered reviews). We had to sue this company to get our lease deposit back. They showed up in small claims court with a lawyer and tried to put forth the argument that we didn t have a lease with them. Needless to say we won a judgement, but in their infinite wisdom, Carolina Cottages has chosen to appeal the judgement.
