Went there for the first time last night and definitely will go back. The service was excellent! The wine list was comprehensive allowing several choices of glass or bottle. The menu has a nice variety and we had spaghetti with meatballs for me, lobster ravioli for him. I make killer spaghetti and meatballs so ordering it is the acid test. The food is amazing!! And the customer service is second to none. We just so happened to stop here while visiting Notre Dame for the weekend. We were greeted warmly, our server was exceptionally attentive, and the food was DELICIOUS!!! We highly recommend it!! Get the sea bass - trust me on this one!!

My girlfriend and I ate at Carmela’s last night and it was great! I have had Fettuccine Alfredo from all over the Michiana area and there’s is by far the best I have ever had! The service was amazing and the atmosphere is very warm and cozy!

Fabulous authentic Italian food! Wonderful atmosphere. Great staff; family owned by the nicest family! Scrumptious desserts; full bar and nice selection of wines. Family friendly too. A lovely place in downtown South Bend.
