Our experience at CarMax was okay, but I was disappointed by their no-negotiation pricing policy. They were completely firm on the price with no room to negotiate. After doing some research, I found the exact same year, make, model, color, and very similar mileage and condition at another dealership for over $4,000 less. Dani made what could have been a stressful car-buying experience incredibly easy. She was patient, never made me feel rushed, and gave me the time and space to work through a few issues I was dealing with. At no point did I feel pressured—she simply answered my questions, listened, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Great customer service like that is hard to find these days. This is our fourth car from carmax. We have always gotten good service from the CarMax associates and a reasonable price on our vehicles. On our 3rd car purchase, we got the CarMax extended warranty. Very glad we did. In year four of ownership, the transmission in our SUV died. CarMax replaced the transmission and we only had to pay our deductible. I worked with Benjamin at the Glen Allen location. He was very helpful and easy to work with from the very beginning. Went out of his way to assist me but was never pushy. Made the process enjoyable.
