OK guys, this is my 2nd time around with AJ (owner) of Carman. I had them repair the Hybrid battery of my 2005 Prius. I could hardly believe it, when he offered to drive down to San Diego (Vista) to pick up my Prius with all the warning lights on, took it up to his shop and left me a car to drive in the meantime. In all my years, I never seen any repair shop do this for a customer. Next up, warning lights came on again for the 3-way valve and a couple other warnings - nothing to do with the battery repair. ⚠️ Bad experience with this shop The previous owner of my Prius paid $1000 at Carman Hybrid Repair on July 1, 2025 (Invoice #130) for a hybrid battery replacement. I used the warranty from that invoice. The shop replaced the battery four times, but the Check Hybrid System (P0A80) problem never went away. In reality, they don’t rebuild batteries – they just buy used packs from junkyards and install them. Despite written promises to refund, they later refused, avoided responsibility, and now say the only way is to go to court.... read more
Excellent job
OK, finally found a HONEST MECHANIC !!! Impossible you say, they don't exist?!? Well AJ at CARMAN HYBRID REPAIR SHOP in Santa Ana is as great a person and mechanic as you will ever find. He was Terrific!!! He came down from Santa Ana to pick up my Prius in Vista, left his car with me, took my busted Prius back to his shop and did the repairs needed. Brought my car back fully repaired with a nearly NEW Hybrid battery installed, tuned and ready to run. I'm not a betting man, and if I was, I would have lost that bet on an Hones... read more
They were knowledgeable, and personable. They showed me what was wrong with my battery, and showed me the results of the new one. They also seen I had an issue with my 12v and set me up with a good battery, and new connection. Then they helped me with a new key fob. Truly went above and beyond, I will be recommending them to others, and would go back again for any battery service I may need in the future.
