Carlos & Pepe’s was founded in January 1979 by Dave Alderman who has been the sole proprietor since that time. Dave’s objective was to develop an authentic Mexican restaurant that catered to the ‘Gringo” taste. He has always used nothing but the finest and freshest ingredients that can be found. Two strikes...THEY'RE OUT!!! – I give all restaurants two chances. They blew it twice so I'm done. This place was ok when we first started going, very festive decor and a very nice pour on the glass of wine. Food was the standard Mexican fare, nothing special but tasty enough. Find somewhere else to go!!! – It had been a while since I had been to Carlos and Pepe's and now I remember why! The food was terrible and the service was non-existent. Even the chips and salsa were bad. The chips were greasy and tasted rancid. The salsa was like watered down soup and had virtually no taste. Will Never Go Back – I've eaten at C&P a few times over the years and food has been ok. My last experience there was horrible and I walked out with a party of 8 people when they were slow. Manager and Host were rude and not accommodating at all. Walked over to TAZA's in the same plaza and had a great experience and great food.
Awesome Beef, Nachos, Cheese, Margaritas, Vibe! – My Husband and I live in Miami so it's quite a drive to get to Carlos and Pepe's but it's worth it if we're heading north. Their beef is to die for. Management/Service A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – We were in town with friends and hoped for a good dining experience but were completely embarassed! As first time diners we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. When our waitress arrived we asked what beers were on draft and she pointed to the bar so we could read them! Bad Service, Overcharged my card! – I was in town visiting friends and we all wanted to eat Mexican so we decided to go here. The server took forever to bring out our drinks and take any sort of order. He came back to ask if I wanted a refill of Sangria and I said yes. Avoid it – Anytime you see hamburgers, chicken wings or pizza on the menu at a Mexican restaurant - beware! Food was horrible. Ordered simple burrito - nothing on the menu indicated it would come with beef stew styled meat covered in brown sauce - no lettuce, tomatoes, or extras of any kind. The meat tasted exactly like my mother's Irish beef stew - I couldn't believe it.
