Extremely Happy with Medical Care – After moving to the Lakeway area, I asked some neighbors if they could recommend a good vet. Caring Hands seemed to be the unanimous recommendation. My pets are part of my family, and I was pleased to read that only Caring Hands is a AAHA certified practice in the area which my previous vet told me to look for. The staff and doctors made my pets and me feel right at home on our first visit. Thank you CHAH for making our choice in vets crystal clear. We will be back and will tell others abo... read more
Wish Caring Hands Continued Success – Caring Hands Vets and Staff, thank you for making the move of my animals so easy. I enjoyed a 5 year relationship with Caring Hand while living in the Austin area very much. My animals 2 dogs (Homer and Ralph) and 1 cat (Margo) were always treated with the animals health and well being foremost. As an animal lover and pet owner I was treated with compassion and respect. The veterinarians and staff at Caring Hands were certainly up to speed with the latest treatments and technologies avai... read more
caring hands is caring hospital – I have been taking my two dogs to Caring Hands for several years. The staff always acknowledges me as soon as I walk through the door, and are very helpfull. The staff are so compassionate with my dogs, that they don't mind going to the Vet. because all the attention they recieve. The Doctors take time to answer all of my questions and some that I didn't even know to ask. Great hospital and the best staff of any place I have been.
OK, but not the highest ethical standards – We have a diabetic kitty. We have been administering insulin to him for years, and he is doing fine. He had a health issue that required an overnight stay at Caring Hands. As part of that stay, they had to administer the standard insulin dose. When we brought him home, he had a severe insulin shock reaction. It was very frightening--we thought he was going to die. We took him to an emergency pet clinic (as it was after hours), where they put him on a glucose drip, as his glucose le... read more
Happy with care, but can't afford their high prices anymore – I've been taking my dog to Caring Hands for 2 years ever since my dog was a puppy. I've always been happy with their staff and quality of care, I never felt rushed, and they always followed up with a call after every visit. That being said, they charge double the amount compared to other vets. Since this is my first dog, I didn't realize how much they overcharged. Once I decided to get a second dog and talked to my breeder about how much I've been spending at the ... read more
Expensive – I met only the old vet. She did not seem to care too much about me or my dog. I will not reccomend this place.
If you love your pet - Stay Away – I'm just sick over the experience I had at this sorry excuse for a vet clinic. When Dr. McShane walked into the room she was OBVIOUSLY rushing me to do a surgery by scaring the sh*t out of me by making me think it had to be cancer. I felt like they were just out to take as much money from me as possible, whether or not it was right for my dog. I called a different vet and went in this morning - he agreed that it's likely an infection and first did an aspiration to check the fluid in the lum... read more
Fantastic care for my dog – Caring hands has a nice and clean hospital, i felt comfortable as soon as I walked in the front door. The staff were very friendly and helpful with both me and my pet. The doctor certainly was very experienced and had my dog treated quickly. They seem to have the latest and greatest technology... A++++++++++++
Good for pets, terrible for humans – My animals recieved adequate care, but I can not say the same for treatment towards me. I switched vets 3 years ago for this very reason. Dr. McShane has the personality of a car tire and related very poorly to myself and my husbands concerns. The office manager was a bit of a loony bird and the gal at the front desk was so dry and emotionless. She wasn't rude to me, personally, but she was totally indifferent to some other people who were there when I was checking out. While I was a clie... read more
