Poor planning is the major problem. No time spent measuring and having a solid build plan for the full scope of work and ended up having to keep changing and compromising due to it. Never were there any building plans onsite for anyone to follow other than a piece of graph paper with a hand drawing of where some cabinets go and the invoice they sent me. Avoid at all costs. For real, save yourself a huge headache and don’t get into business with them. Custom NW (also known as Carey’s Custom Flooring) is a shady company that will take your deposit and immediately becomes impossible to contact, they will move the start date of your project multiple times (and only tell you after you’ve proactively contacted them), they will improperly project manage the work, and they will add exorbitant change requests at every turn. Hired Carey customs to update my floors , and oh my they did great. I’m so happy with the finished look. They were professional and willing to help me with all my needs. Anna was super sweet and nice when doing my consultation. She is one awesome gal. The owners were also amazing and got the job done in the Time frame set. I recommend this company to everyone!
Perhaps the most disappointing experience with a contractor. Their sales engine is successful. We met with the owner; an extremely personable man that seemed to know his business. How far from reality this statement has become? Upon paying the first 50% down, he communicated the process, his availability on site and a timeline. Unfortunately, none of those items were correct. The sales Sabrinna was really great! Very quick response and easy to communicate. The tile guy was excellent. Most of the jobs were done by their in house crews and they provided nice quality work. The only thing needs to be improved is to communicate and organize the schedule better when the sales person is on vacation. Otherwise it's a breeze to communicate with Sabrina.
