Curry Chicken. A huge portion of stewed chicken in a mild curry sauce. Served with the tastiest fried cabbage. The Caribbean rice and beans have a wonderful aromatic flavor. -----03 May, 2015----- Delicious food. Lately I've become a junkie for Carena's food. Went this week and had the grilled fish with mango salsa. It was fantastic! I love their curry chicken. A must try for everyone.

I generally enjoy the food there especially the Island Fried chicken...the problem is I have traveled to the restaurant several times and requested all white meat only to be told we dont cook white meat after a certain time...5pm on Saturday is early to stop cooking or accomodating your patrons...i have never been to any other restaurant and been told this...bad business!!!!

Temporary Closure. Http://www.422jerk.com/ I drove past yesterday and it had disappeared. But don't panic, it's only temporary. They are renovating and will reopen early next year. -----14 Feb, 2011----- Why did we wait. Seen this place a number of times but only when we got a Groupon did we actually take the plunge. The food was okay. I ordered the soup of the day and it was luke warm. I also ordered the curry goat which was good. The service was poor. Friendly enough staff but very very slow. Overall it was fine but they should work on the wait staff. But I'd blame the management more than the staff.

Miscounted or Scammed. On March 19, 2012, my friend and I dined at Carena's. The oxtails were good, the service was quick while we dined. The ticket, it was approximately $29.39, arrived and we thought we gave the waitress $34.00 (2-tens, 2-fives, 4-ones).I told her to keep the change. The waitress approached us as we were leaving and said, "Here is your change ". I think she said the change was 61 cents. Disappointing. Kept seeing this restaurant from the highway coming home from work, so I decided to stop and get take out. I ordered the jerk chicken which was not very good at all. I'm not too picky about food but the chicken tasted old and the sauce it was coated in tasted pretty bad as well. I threw away the rest of the meal and was very disappointed.

Oasis on Midlo. Lunched there yesterday. arrived very hungry. got a warm welcoming from the staff as soon as i entered. i eat vegetarian, with the occasional seafood dish, and had plenty of choices on the menu. we started with conch fritters, and devoured em. ordered the vegetarian pannini and it was terrific. the sides of HOME MADE potato chips and sweet slaw were delicious. service was wonderful, price was reasonable. both of us got to go boxes because we couldn't eat it all. will go again soon!
