I needed an urgent PET Scan for a mass that was discovered by accident when my brother, an MD, suggested a Calcium Score Test versus jumping right into a statin which my Montana Health PCP prescribed. The test showed that I didn't need a statin but that I had a largish mass on my lung. I have spent the entire week trying to schedule a PET Scan but the PCP sent the order to a place in Helena that doesn't do PET Scans. Then she was out of the office for the rest of the week. If the state of Montana is under the impression these clinics are “perks” to our employment they are mistaken. 1) At my most vulnerable, after having a baby, I made an appointment to talk about mental health issues I was having that I assumed were related to my hormones. The NP I saw at the clinic talked to me for less than 10 minutes and suggested I hire a night nurse so I could sleep more.
