Authentic Italian Cooking in Central Ohio This little restaurant is a gem. The food is excellent, my favorite is Gnocchi alla Gorgonzola (my wife's father from the old country says the Gnocchi is better than his which is fantastic). My wife (who's a vegetarian) loves the Arancini, while I like the Antipasto Platter appie (composed of real Italian meats and cheeses). Cardones Westerville My husband and I had dinner at Cardones on May 13. The waitress was very good and friendly. The service was quite slow but we were told there had been a large party earlier. The food was OK but the portions were small. The one thing that will keep us from going back is the $1.00 charge for extra sauce. We would not have ask for extra sauce if the food had enough on it. Great food in Westerville Finally a good restaurant in Westerville. After a terrible meal at Uptown Market the week before, I was ready to be disgusted by another Westerville restaurant, but found a place that I will return to. My only complaints were that the balsamic vinaigrette was sickeningly sweet and too thick, and the red wine was way too hot. Inedable eggplant lunch Spontaneously had Tuesday lunch with wife and daughter for the first time at Cardones. While the salad was good, the hot eggplant appetizer was undercooked and bitter. The red sauce could not mask the poorly prepared meal. Later in the day I telephoned and spoke with Daniel Wade, proprietor, of our unsatisfying experience. EXCELLENT Great new restaurant. Food was very impressive and I think under-priced. (Yea really!). The owner Dan, and the Cheff Gina bot h came to meet us. Very cozy, and comfortable. Food was fantastic. 5 Stars.
Worst Service EVER! This was our first visit to Cardones. I don't even know where to begin. First of all, when we walked in, there was nobody to greet us. There was a girl that kind of pointed to a table. The same girl happened to be our waitress, but throughout the whole night she never even introduced herself or let us know she was going to be our waitress. we will definitely return again and again We are fans of places like Figlio and Brio and loved Cardone's! The prices were very reasonable and the food fresh. The portabella mushroom appetizer was amazing - my husband does not usually care for mushrooms and loved it. The bread was hot and fresh and the olive oil had a great flavor. The tomato/mozzarella salad was fresh and one of the best I have had. My husband's chicken parmesan was just ok but the portion was large.
