Over five years ago I had a routine heart calcium scan. I was shocked to learn I had a very high calcium score. The widely held belief in medicine is that arterial plaque formation is progressive and irreversible. The standard treatment is a low fat diet, exercise, statins and wait for your first event. A few years ago I discovered I had high blood pressure. I went to see a cardiologist who fortunately sent me for a CAC test. I had a high calcium score (plaque in my arteries) and the cardiologist prescribed a statin. I lost some weight and after several months went back to see the cardiologist. I am a victim of Cipro toxicity. I called trying to setup an appointment since they claim they can reverse fluoroquinolone toxicity. However, the person that answered the phone informed me that they charge $3,000 upfront, which included 2 hour visit and bloodwork. When I asked him what kind of bloodwork he just rambled on and decline to give any legitimate information to support the high upfront charge.
