Total rip off. I’ve been in twice and both times was told I needed parts replaced that were not bad. Thousands of dollars worth of work. Ridiculous. Suck it car x. I’ll never be back and will be sure to tell everyone I can not to do business with you.

Told me I needed water pump that had just been replaced 1.5 years ago. I took car to trusted mechanic and nothing wrong with water pump. Today manager couldnt find any play in the waterpump. Had coupon for $19.99 oil change. Pickef the car up and it is $29.99. Up charged me $10. I wont go back. This all occurred at the Ankeny location.
RecommendedNothing like having a/c issues while on vacation with on a heat advisory in effect! Car-X got us in quickly, gave us the cost before beginning work. best of all they were able to get us in quickly. They did have to modify the quote when it was determined the part was just a little different. but again they told us up front and even showed us the difference in the part. As an old mechanics daughter, I appreciated the straight forward service. Wish they had a Car-X where I live!
The mechanic screwed up my car on purpose! I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. He "pre-warned" me that if he did the tire rotation and something was wrong then it would take a week to fix it as he was understaffed. I found the statement curious but I gave the go ahead because my car is fairly new and I haven't had any issues with it. RecommendedI have been going to this Car X since I got my 1st car in 1999. These guys are the absolute best. Right now I am in Louisiana, and Ray is going above and beyond the call of duty. He's taken over phone and email communications with NTB to make sure I don't get fleeced by another mechanic. If you want a skilled mechanic with top notch ethics, CarX on 107th is the place to go!
