Not really car free but you can walk a lot of places.
Driver just parks and leaves for 15 minutes at a time at random. Do not rely on this bus for getting anywhere on time. Its free for a reason. We were riding August 1st around 5pm. It took literally over an hour to get to our hotel thats located about a mile away from the stop we got on.
