Visit Capo if you're in the neighborhood. Don't let the crowded ambience, rustic decor and limited privacy deter you—the main attraction is the food. Savor every bit of the Italian fare that is doled out in huge portions—Bluefin Tuna Tartare and Lobster Risotto, to name a few. The wine list complements the meals and a full bar is also available. Desserts like Candied Bread Pudding or Creamy Panna Cotta flatter the palate. The place is open from Tuesday to Saturday 6pm onwards.

Just Say No to Capo – My boyfriend and I went here for our birthdays. We live close and eat out quite often, I've tried and enjoy many of the top restaurants in LA. I didn't like Capo at all. We got the tasting menu and everything was laden with butter. The steak dish came with cold potatoes! There were things I didn't even eat at all because they were not tasty. This is not normal behavior for me - I love food and love trying everything. Worse was we ordered a glass of wine each - at $20 a glass it was not a good value. We ... read more
Truly ARROGANT policies – Having read many good reviews about this restaurant, I finally rounded up 10 of my family members to have a delectable dining evening at Capo. When I called to make the reservation, I was shocked to hear that in order to have a table of ten, I must ensure a minimum order of $125 per person and the value of ordering wine is not included in this minimum. What kind of so-called classy restaurant has this type of policy?!! I found it truly obnoxious and unwarranted for this kind of treatment, especially... read more
Disappointing – Price isn't just a matter of what you can afford. Price also signals a level of quality and sophistication, and, whether I can afford it or not, I expect a lot from a restaurant that offers few entrees for less than $45. What I do NOT expect is a room so loud you can't hear yourself think, indifferent staff, dishes lacking in imagination, and a criminally bland blueberry pie.
I have eaten at Capo twice (fortunately, as someone else's guest) and can't understand what all the hoo-ha is about. Both times I had pasta (it IS an Italian restaurant). The mushroom risotto was very salty and the 3 pastas I had on another night were good--but not great...so, I don't get it...
Had to post our thoughts – After I read the post below i felt compeled to write our experience. My wife and I finally made the trip to this small Italian restaurant and it was worth it. The ambience was romantic and the food outstanding. What flavors. The service was personal and not stuffy like so many of the city's high priced places. Right from the get go we were treated with class and style. Dennis was great to us and really made us feel at home, not putting on some aire of superiority that we often get, which leads me t... read more
Maitre'd Dennis belongs in clown college – The Maitre d' at this restaurant managed to pull of the triple crown. He insulted us on the way into the restuarant, he ignored us during the meal, and was rude on the way out. The food is in fact good here, but to be treated as a sub-human makes for a lousy experience. There is a lot of great Italian food on the Westside so don't go wasting your time here. What a jerk!
More than just great Italian – No doubt, this is a very expensive restaurant, know that going in. The steaks at Capo were outstanding, tender, delicious, perfectly grilled. The vegetables were interesting and very good. The sole and salmon were excellent too. We started with a pasta appetizer (rigatoni with kobe beef) which was outstanding as well. You can have pasta as an entree as well, but there are other items that might be a better way to go, such as duck, lamb, etc. The cauliflour soup was good, not great. And the dess... read more
Sumptuous Italian fare lures affluent foodies to this casually chic hideaway. – The Scene Push aside the lush velvet curtain and enter la dolce vita. Exposed beams and a roaring fireplace call to mind an elegant ski lodge. With an extensive wine list and a knowledgeable staff expert in the dying art of service, no detail goes unnoticed. The Food Chef/owner Bruce Marder focuses on rustic Italian fare prepared with the most exquisite ingredients. Mushroom parpadelle is strewn with exotic morsels like porcini and wood ear mushr... read more
great place if... – inexhaustible source of income... perfectly scaled restaurant - intimate - easy to hold a conversation - service is top notch - waiters are very knowledgeable and know when to stay away, when to assist etc. music choice was pretty strange - ranging from italian songs appropriate for an olive garden restaurant to polka style marriachi - wine list is FANTASTIC - with the strange absence of top german wines - especially desert wines - mark up is pretty steep - food - very good - but not mind blowing - which ... read more
