My husband and I came down for his 40th high school reunion, we booked 3 nights. At first, the hotel was nice at first appearance. But when it came to heading to bed? It sucked! The bed was hard. Felt like I was sleeping on bricks. Then came the second day and there were ants! And a horrible smell. I tried to use odor ban. And that didn't even work! So we just suffered. Then the ants got worse! Never ever will we stay at this place again! 1 star is not what they deserve.
Biggest Bait and switch Hotel I’ve ever been too. Booked it with points. Did not say anywhere about a non refundable pet fee. Blamed the listing service they were on. Said it keeps happening but they charged me anyway. Happy to keep falsely advertising and charging illegal fees. Poor guy at the counter said he couldn’t do anything without a manager until Monday. Not too shabby
Incredible value for money, and a wonderful old hotel - rooms make you feel like a wealthy young debutante from times long by, enjoying the up and coming town of Topeka. However, incredibly slow check-in and customer service in general. Not enough to take a star off; not nearly as bad as, for example, a Vegas casino hotel. Enough to think about if you don't care as much about strict price-to-room-quality ratio.
