Ken Lockwood is extremely unprofessional and has very little knowledge of tenant laws in California, as he attempted to charge pet rent for a service animal in Burlingame, CA. I would not recommend renting through Ken Lockwood, associated with Capital Realty.
Stuart has been wonderful! On the ball, reasonable, does what he says he’s going to do. Also, the people in the office are sweet and helpful.
We rented a house from Capital Realty Group for three years and had a really good experience. Anytime something needed fixing or improving, they took care of it quickly. When we moved out, we got back 87% of our deposit, with just a small deduction for cleaning the house and garden — which seemed totally fair to us. So I was honestly surprised to see some of the negative reviews. That hasn’t been our experience at all — they were responsive and easy to deal with the whole time.
Do not rent from Capital Realty. My partner and I saw the negative reviews before we moved to El Camino Real in Burlingame and we regret not taking their warnings. Not only was the apartment we rented—1 bedroom, very cramped, old appliances, little privacy—definitely not worth the $2300/month, but we were surprised with over $400 dollars being deducted out of our $500 security deposit weeks after move out.
