ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A HOSPITAL. Unforgivable delays and mismanagement — my sister could have died. Two weeks ago, my sister presented to Canterbury ED with abdominal pain. She was given painkillers and told to get an ultrasound. She did the scan — no one followed up. She continued on with life assuming no news was good news. On Tuesday, she had pain again and consulted a telehealth GP who finally reviewed the ultrasound (done weeks earlier) and urgently advised her to go to ED — it showed gallstones requiring surgery. I haven't been in hospital for years and never to Canterbury. I'd just finished a 70hr work week and was less than thrilled when I wounded up in the emergency room with a cut on my hand needing stitches. The staff were friendly, helpful, efficient. Dr Diurmund was friendly, easy to talk to and professional. They clearly had their hands full and yes it took a couple hours but they took great care of me and everyone around me. So thankyou to the Drs and Nurses at Canterbury Hospital Emergency Department. You guys are great.

Top shelf people working there doing their best. Great local hospital, could do with an upgrade from government. Positive experiences there over the years.

The only reason I gave it one star, is because I’m not able to give any less. If you’re not literally dying, they just don’t care AT ALL… Should’ve believed all those people that told me how bad this hospital is… it’s known for it…
