Room was not ready. Waited and waited. Told I could cancel because I was finally given a key and it was taken away from me as I entered the elevator because there was still not a room ready for me. Charged me even though I could not get a room. I was told other people could get rooms ahead of me because I had a first-floor room. No I didn’t. Charged for a room that was never available. RUN in the other direction!
I was really surprised that the room was this good. For some reason Detroit rooms were high this weekend as we came in and seen this for $119...it was clean, smelled clean, beds were good etc. I would definitely book again if I'm in the Southfield area again! If I would've thought about a review when I came in I would've put some good photos up but we have our stuff everywhere now!
The room was clean and has the cutest little kitchenette. The 2.5 star hotel type had me scared . My plan was to walk out and just pay outrageous prices for cleanliness. This is a hidden gem . I have points at other hotel chains, this was a great option. After filling my tank with gas from $4.06 to $4.85 from a 12 hour drive, I didn't want to waste more money. Thank you Candlewood Suites. Tue, Apr 28 - Wed, Apr 29 (1 Night, 1 Room) I arrived at the hotel at night. I made the reservation through Priceline, and my app clearly showed that the room was a standard one. However, the person at the hotel lobby gave me a handicapped-accessible room. When I complained, she told me that was what she had in the system, and despite me showing her my phone, she refused to change the room.
