I'm not usually one to complain. Todays appointment was nor very good. I found the nurse to be very rough. Almost throwing the little squeeze ball in my hand. Tying the band on my arm so tight it hurt. Rushed out of the chair in 20 second after donation. Blood flowed slowly, and I'm sure it was set up wrong. Wasn't the usual appointment. Very disappointed. My arm is stil aching.
Love this place! Pretty sure that Calvin has started a ninja school, as Marilyn may have surpassed her master. I have sneaky veins so typically request someone i know who was successful in subduing veinous subterfuge. Well yesterday, Jess, (she's awesome), was doing double duty at the desk, and Calvin was nowhere to be found (in true ninja style), but Marilyn stepped up seamlessly for an easy and comfortable donation. Thanks to all the staff, volunteers, and snack donors who make my quarterly blood letting such a fun time!

This was my regular donation centre. Staff were always friendly and helpful. If it is your first time, you get an “I’m new here sticker” and the staff will make sure to explain everything and ensure your experience is good. Lots of snacks and drinks to stay hydrated and recover. If you are unsure if you can donate, check out their website and you can call their helpline in advance and speak to a nurse if you have questions. This avoids going and not being able to donate.
