Very disappointing experience with the reception staff. I was told I would need to wait around an hour. I told reception that I would step outside for about 5 minutes and then come back, and they said “OK”. I returned after about 5 minutes and waited in the clinic. After waiting for a long time, I asked reception why I still hadn’t been called. Unbelievable and completely unacceptable. This practice refuses to give patients access to their own test results and clinical records. Patients in Australia have a strict legal right to access their health data under federal privacy law (APP 12). Withholding personal medical files is a direct breach of privacy obligations and compromise of patient safety. I am taking this matter directly to privacy and health regulatory bodies. Avoid if you value transparency and access to your own medical data.
