About this business

There are not too many places where you can get kimchi and omelets on the same menu, but the Cameo Cafe is just that kind of place. Its location is prime, in the middle of the humming Northeast Sandy Boulevard, and its food has won much acclaim from local media and diners alike. Traditional breakfast fare includes eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and omelets, alongside Korean specialties like the kimchi hash with hash browns, eggs, kimchi and bacon, and egg pancakes so large they spill over the brim of your plate. Coffee, ... read more

Good food..different atmosphere. – Been here before and came back again. The seafood omelet is delicious. I had it with the 1/2 acre blueberry pancake, hash browns with sausage gravy, and toast. Whuuugh. stuffed to the gills and lovin it. BBuuuurp. I'll be back again for sure. The serve staff is kinda kinky but it's still worth coming Open mind, big appetite, you'll be fine.!

gone downhill – Just returned from what will be my last trip to the Cameo Cafe. For years, my wife and I frequented the location in NW until they closed, and now occasionally will hit up the East side location near Sandy and 82nd. I used to love their waffles as they used a malted batter, which is hard to find anymore. It is one of the few restaurants where I always knew what I was going to order even before we got there...the waffle special with one egg and two pieces of bacon for a very reasonable $8.95. I have always endu... read more

Fusion pancake and kimchi – Always looking foward to lunch or breakfast at the Cameo. Try a kim chi omlette, tofu pancake , or crab benedict. The portions are huge - they mean it when they say ACRE PANCAKE! My favorite is the savory rice flour, cheese and vegetable savory fusion pancake. Goes great with kim chi, not so great with coffee. The hashbrowns are always great. The whole experiece is a little ironic, but totally worth a visit. Look for the news clippings, stuffed animals and carousels

Buy a loaf of strong bread! – This place is kinds creepy, but they make this incredible bread that you can buy by the loaf. Skip the diner and make delicious toast at home.

Great Service, Great Food, Modest Prices – This has quickly become a favorite establishment for my wife and I to dine in. Breakfast never disappoints whether it is the oversize pancakes or custom built omelette. The LongLife soup is a great lunch meal. The wait staff is friendly and dependable and always ready to give another ounce of coffee refill to the cup. The owner is there daily and adds warmth, humor and style to the cafe. Highly recommended

Not even worth 1 star! Market Price for panckes?! This isn't lobster! Horrible service too! – Just got home home from the MOST stressful breakfast EVER! My sister, my 2yo daughter & I took our Dad out for Father's Day. Dad used to take us here as little girls and I can remember it being fantastic. My sister put our name in while I parked. The owner came out to the lobby to recheck names & started with my sister. A lady, and I use the term loosly, interupted and said she was there first. The owner said no, she came in after m... read more

Excellent food, outside seating – They accepted a last minute breakfast reservation for 8 on Labor Day! They are only 5 minutes from our airport hotel and wer easy to find. It was tight quarters on one end of the table but it was ready when we got there and we sat together. (Note: outside seating is limited to tables of 4 or less.) Wait staff was accomodating - suggesting smaller portion options or Mickey pancakes for our kids - as well as efficient. These ladies hustled their bustles! This restaurant is cozy (read: small) a... read more

Great Service, Great Food – Mornings can be very crowded, but that is because the food is food is great tasting and the service personel have character. There are many menu items outside the typical breakfast and lunch fare. All are worth a repeat visit. Long life soup, Kimshee omelette, and Korean pancake are just a few of the unique favor experiences available there. The cook Martha is exceptionally gifted as a short order cook and will do specials just for you. if coffe is your thing: your cup will always be "topped off" ... read more

You've been warned... – service was strange, place didn't look clean, the food was gross - you've been warned... We've been to countless other PDX restaurants for breakfast - we've never been creeped out like this.
