Offering over 30 different kinds of beer on tap and rotating them often, Cambridge Common sure knows a thing or two about quality beer. This friendly neighborhood bar and restaurant is located in Cambridge and draws in the crowds throughout the week. Their cuisine is more than just your typical pub fair, with delicious items like mac n' cheese bites, grilled meatloaf, deviled eggs, tofu curry and more! Brunch is also quite notable, pumpkin waffles being the local favorite.

Good gab place, not a food stop – Though the Common doesn't make pretenses about being fancy, the food is often just unacceptable at even a low price. I'm not the sort to send back food, but did it at Cambridge Common when I was offered something so needlessly salty that it burned the corners of my mouth. You might find something reasonable every now and then, but I suggest you view this place as a place to settle in with friends to watch the game and chat.
Great brunch spot – I had a bit of a hangover last Sunday and was in search of a fine brunch to take away the headache. Lo and behold, there was Cambridge Common. Every other place had an extensive wait, but not only was there no wait at Cambridge Common, but there was parking too! I had the Mushroom and Goat Cheese Omelette, which came with toast (and an individual pot of jam), fruit, and (fairly bland) homefries. It was fabulous, and I highly recommend this place for a weekend brunch.
Average Food and Service – The service, food, and atmosphere are set for comfort level in this establishment, but the real focus is on the alcohol. Their selection of beer is impressive in quantity. Try the chowder or the fish and chips.
Uncommonly good – Cambridge Common is vastly underrated, probably because of its inconspicuous appearance and location directly between Harvard and Porter Squares. Nonetheless, their burgers are consistently good and the price is right (about $5 for a burger and fries, with the option for sweet potato fries). Excellent inexpensive beers on tap as well, and great live music downstairs.
Can I have curly fries with that? – Haven't had a good curly fry lately? Be sure to specify theirs when ordering your burger...the best I've ever had. Some times burgers are a bit over cooked and they are skimpy on the lettuce - but over-all, a good solid experience every time with a fantastic beer selection on tap to wash down that high calorie meal. Cool surroundings - though if you are smoke free, make sure they seat you far away from the bar. Lots of seating so there is rarely a wait even for a secluded booth. Definitely... read more
Sweet Potato Heaven! – Their sweet potato fries are the best in Boston. Get them with their burger on a large English muffin, and you'll be addicted. They could use a little help as far as their service goes, but even so this place is one of my favorite places for dinner and drinks.
Great food and drink! – Cambridge Common has had a consistently good menu, including, burgers and drinks.
what a deal! – the food is plentiful, the prices are cheap, and the assortment of beers on tap is impressive. the curly-q fries are seasoned just right!
Tasty – You can count on CC for a good, tasty burger, and more importantly awesome fries and onion rings. The burger has great flavor and they don't overcook them. I recommend a side of Guacomole to compliment the beef.
