I'm with Medi-Cal and my general dentist gave me an endodntist referral and the specialist determined that I needed a root canal. After, waiting 4 months for the appointment, the director of claims at California Dental Network denied paying for the procedure because one of their office clerk's determined that I don't need one. He overturned the specialists' decision by how an office clerk interprets the x-ray! This person is not an x-ray technician or educated in dentistry He's only an office clerk. Don't waste your time or money. The coverage is minimal and the dentist selection is limited. If you need to reach customer service, be prepared for an extended hold time (over 90 minutes, not exaggerating).

For the same price, the Hacienda Hotel offers a better overall experience. I originally left the Hacienda because I was not satisfied with the room; however, the accommodations I received at the California Hotel were much worse. The room felt extremely confined, with no window, and was located in a separate building across the street. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I signed up, set up payment, and that was it! They NEVER mailed me my dental insurance card information, there is not even an option to create an account to see my proof of coverage, their agents could not even give me my insurance information over the phone!? THEY ARE NO HELP AT ALL. The only proof I had of coverage was the payments shown on my bank account. I couldn’t cancel directly through them, you have to call Covered CA to do that.
