I have been fighting with CCCU for months now. They have been trying to close my fathers account. I have been handling his affairs for a couple of years now, and I am his POA. Early on I took a copy of my POA into the ****** * *******office. They keep giving an ever changing story about what they need. In their last written correspondence, they said they needed a copy of my POA, after I had already given one. I don't know if it is malice or incompetence, but their actions have been VERY customer unfriendly.

Due to the CoVid situation, the Credit Union stopped auto pay on my credit card. I have had auto pay for decades. When I personally went in to discuss this issue, the teller mentioned that I should have received an email regarding this. My concerns were that I did not authorize this move on my account. I was not sent a letter of notification. I did not put my signature on any document of agreement. I was told that someone would get back to me. In the meantime, my credit card balance incurred interest payments. When I again w... read more

I had an unusual situation that required a credit union to look beyond just checking off the routine boxes. This credit union took the time at the highest levels of management to investigate the merits of a matter that a superficial review could not. I was very happy with the outcome and can honestly say that the senior management team at CCCU truly understands and takes care of their members. Don't waste time with another credit union, move your banking to CalCoastCU.org

I refinanced my auto loan with California Coast Credit Union on 04/28/2017. The agent that helped me asked if I had "full coverage" auto insurance and I replied yes. My understanding of "full coverage" was coverage that satisfied California law. When I bought the coverage with Progressive I chose the "full coverage" option. The contract I signed required comprehensive and collision coverage also. I was not informed at the time of signing that it was additional coverage. Furthermore on the contract it allowed only two days to... read more

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to express concern in reference to the vehicle insurance coverage on the 2014 Mazda 3. After careful review of the account it is noted that there was a true lapse in coverage on the vehicle for the period of 09/10/2017 through 02/27/2018. This lapse occurred when the Insurance coverage on the 2014 Mazda was changed from Comprehensive and Collision to Liability insurance only. On two separate documents provided during the loan funding process the member was given disclosures that outlined the Cal... read more

My car was impounded due to a parking violation on the 26th of September (when I was out of the country) and after 72 hours, transferred to an auction house in Los Angeles. This was done unlawfully, without consent, and against my best interest. On behalf of myself, I authorized two trusted people to receive information on this matter and pay all debts owed to reclaim my vehicle. On October 6th, an authorized person, complied with the cash only request of Cal Coast Credit Union and paid $553 to get the vehicle released into ... read more

Business response:

California Coast Credit Union (CCCU) values its members and takes member complaints very seriously. We have reviewed the circumstances of Mr. ******* complaint. On 09/28/2016, CCCU received a notice of a stored vehicle from the San Diego Police Department. The vehicle was impounded on 09/26/2016. CCCU attempted to contact Mr. ***** and was informed that he was out of the country for an extended period and we were unable to reach him. When a vehicle is impounded if the owner does not pay the impound fees and claim the vehicle... read more
